Bubbles in Magick

Bubbles are whimsical and fun mixes of Air and Water, and hold a magic of all their own. Many of us have fond memories of using bubbles s children whether it was from blowing them out in the summer breeze or baths overflowing with them.

Correspondences of Bubbles

Bubbles have several correspondences and uses when it comes to magick and witchcraft. Due to their whimsical and nostalgic nature they are often associated with inspiration, creativity, childhood, wonder and fantasy. Bubbles are also wonderful for protection, cleansing and purification spells seeing as they are often made through using soap. Due to the shape and shine of many bubbles they are often associated with scrying and psychic abilities as well.

Bubble Uses

Bubbles and Cleansing

There are various ways to use bubbles to cleanse oneself or their space. The most simple and obvious way being using soap in the shower or bath and while washing one’s self imagining any dark, heavy emotion and energy one has being being sucked up into the bubbles and foam, trapped inside them. Then as the bubbles go down the drain, visualize all that toxicity going with it.

One can also use a bubble wand and bubble liquid to remove their negativity by visualizing as you blow the bubbles that all your breath going into them is filled with the negativity you wish to remove from yourself. This method is best down outside to ensure when the bubble pops it doesn’t just re-release the negativity in your living space.

To cleanse one’s space or home with bubbles is simple. You either clean it gently where you are able to use soap or you may leave a dish of bubble liquid out overnight. Once it has set out you may dispose of it down the sink or outside via blowing bubbles.

Bubbles and Wishes

Like my previous Bubble Spell, bubbles are wonderful for wish making. Focus on the wish and intent you have. Let it build up in your chest and lungs then release it as you blow your bubbles. Watch them float up into the sky and once they burst know that your wish has been released out into the universe.

Bubble Scrying

Bubble scrying is one of my favorite methods of simple divination. While in a bath filled with bubble bath, close your eyes and focus on your energy. Use your finger to stir in the water and foam of the bubbles. Ask your question or what you seek in your mind our outloud. Once you are satisfied stop your stirring and open your eyes. Watch and focus on the way the bubbles move and wait. Once you see shapes and images in the soap that feel to have a significance remember what they are. I often use the associations used in tasseography to determine what the shapes and images mean.

Visualisation

Visualisation is incredibly useful in witchcraft as it is the base of energy work. From this, you can do all kinds of practices.

You can use visualisation for meditation, astral travel, sending energy into objects and many other things. These will all be covered in the future.

So, how do I start?

Here’s a basic exercise for you to practice. It’s very simple and many of you will probably be able to pick it up easily if you’ve already done visualition techniques!

1.  You’ll need a very quiet area where you’ll be comfortable. Even lying in bed and putting white noise in your headphones is useful. Get rid of all distractions, put your phone on silent etc.

2.  Close your eyes and empty your mind. Your mind might feel like a blank sheet of paper, and you’re going to create something in there.

3.  Picture an apple, any old apple. Zoom in and see its shape,  it’s colour. Does it have leaves, more than one colour? Look at every tiny detail of the apple you’ve created.

4.  Next, take a knife and cut this apple in half. Focus on the detail inside:  the colour, how many seeds there are etc. The more detail, the better.

5.  Now you use your senses. What the apple feels like, smells like. Bite into it and taste it. You’re using visualisation to not only see the apple but understand everything about it.

From this, you’re able to visualise and interact with objects in your mind. Practice often with anything you like!

Anonymous said: Do you have anything spell wise or ritual that could be done for fun but to also get into with energy and get stronger with magic?

sylvaetria:

Just randomly charge shit. Take that energy, and reprogram it for other purposes. Remove that energy from one object and put it into another. Take it out and put it back in yourself. Take it and throw it away.

Even just getting into the habit of grounding regularly can be a good way to practice energy work. Draw in “good,” clean energy; release “bad,” “negative” energy. As you do that, you get used to different feels of energy, drawing it onto yourself (which is always useful in magic), and sending it out again.

Building Galaxys

crankywarlock:

An exercise for both the amount of energy you can hold and manipulate outside of yourself and building up your ability to visualize it.

Sit in a dark room pitch black if at all possible. You don’t want to be able to see any furniture or any distinctive features of the room if you can help it.

Begin by centering yourself. Tune out any background noise any passing thoughts. Let yourself become the single focal point of the space. Let the weight of your presence hang heavy in the space around you.

Begin with a single sphere of energy suspend it in space in front of you about a foot away. Allow it to orbit around you. Build another farther away and have it rotate in the opposite direction. And another until you have as many as you can maintain with ease. All spinning and orbiting you in different patterns, different sizes, and different with different mass. The point is to create as many different constructs as possible completely under your control.
If you drop any or lose control, start over.

Then begin with points of light. Go slowly. Farther away from you. Little sparks of your energy filling the space around you at the edges of the room. Continue expanding. Make some fainter some dazzlingly bright. Some red. Blue. You get the idea.
Again if you lose control or it falls apart start over.
You won’t gain anything by rushing through this or by allowing yourself to take the easy path.

Resume Basics

unicaffe:

having a strong resume is crucial for job applications, scholarship applications, college, etc. it is a sales tool and, ultimately, the first impression an employer/application reviewer will have of you. therefore, you need to make it interesting and impressive. below, i have listed a few tips and need-to-knows to help you build your resume. keep in mind that this list is geared toward industry jobs. while the information is still useful, it may be less relevant for those applying to digital marketing/design jobs.

General

  • make different versions of your resume. by this i mean, have a master resume that lists everything. then, from that master resume, make specific resumes for each opportunity you are applying for.
  • in high school/university, it is usually best to keep your resume to one page. unless you have done substantial work and are capable of filling up two pages, it is best to keep it short and concise.
  • always review your resume before submitting !! it is crucial that your resume does not include any typos

Formatting

  • keep your formatting consistent throughout your entire resume
  • use 11-12 point font, your name/headers should be no bigger than 14 point font
  • have a 1 inch margin all around your resume
  • do not include decorations (unless you are applying to a digital marketing/design job where aesthetics matter !!)
  • keep your font selection professional. my personal favorites are times new roman, garamond, and helvetica.
  • do not use caps unless it is for headers/titles (but even then, use caps at your own discretion)

Sections/Components to Include

  • name & contact info (phone number, email)
  • summary/3-5 second snapshot of your greatest accomplishments
  • job/internship/related experience
  • publications & speeches
  • awards & recognitions
  • memberships & affiliations
  • certifications
  • language skills
  • special/technical skills
  • extracurricular activities

Synonyms/Power Words

  • instead of “new,” use “unusual” or “innovative”
  • instead of “improved,” use “better” or “faster”
  • assessed/measured/quantified
  • conducted/performed/undertook
  • created/designed/developed
  • optimized/maximized
  • increased/reduced
  • spearheaded/led/directed

~~~
please let me know if you found this helpful !! i would love to post more comprehensive tips on cover letters, interviews, networking, developing your linkedin, etc.
